The Need

Care delayed is care that costs more — in money and in health.

In medically underserved neighborhoods, the obstacle to care is rarely a single dramatic barrier. It is an accumulation of ordinary ones: a clinic that closes before a shift ends, a visit whose price cannot be known in advance, a prescription that sits at a pharmacy across town, a specialist referral that never gets scheduled because no one had time to explain the next step.

Each obstacle is small. Together they push treatable conditions — high blood pressure, diabetes, infections, wounds — past the point where a simple visit would have been enough, and into emergency departments where care is most expensive and least continuous.

Necessary Care Health Network was formed to remove those obstacles one at a time: extended clinic access at predictable low cost, support that reaches patients at home, health education delivered where people already gather, and a healthcare workforce trained in and committed to the communities it serves.

Our Focus

Where We Concentrate Our Work

Four areas where a nonprofit can close a gap that neither insurance coverage nor good intentions close on their own.

Affordable Direct Care

Low-cost clinic visits with extended access, so a treatable problem does not become an emergency because of cost or scheduling.

Support That Reaches the Home

Medication delivery and trained patient sitters for homebound patients, recovering patients, and the families caring for them.

Health Education Where People Gather

Plain-language education on blood pressure, diabetes, nutrition, and navigating care — delivered in churches and community spaces.

A Locally Grown Workforce

Fellowship, preceptor certification, and training programs that prepare clinicians to build careers in the communities that need them.
